Our Community Learning Center is Empowering Students with Computer Literacy

At Code Chautari, our mission is to provide accessible and affordable education in computer science and technology to students in our community. This year, we are excited to announce the opening of our very own learning center, located in the heart of Tokha. Our new space will serve as an open learning environment, offering regular classes on topics such as basic computer literacy, programming concepts, and game development with Scratch. But it will also be open to other learners who are interested in using the space for self-guided learning or group study.

One of our main goals with the learning center is to reach out to more kids in the community, particularly those who attend public schools in the area. By setting up the center within the community and in close proximity to these schools, we hope to make it easier for students to access our resources and take advantage of the learning opportunities we offer.

Basic computer literacy is increasingly becoming a necessity in today’s world, as more and more jobs and educational opportunities require at least a basic understanding of how to use a computer. Unfortunately, not all children have the same access to resources and opportunities to learn about technology. This is particularly true for kids who attend public schools, where limited budgets and a lack of resources can make it difficult to offer comprehensive computer science and technology education. As a result, many students are missing out on the chance to learn valuable skills that could help them succeed in their future studies and careers.

At Code Chautari, we are committed to closing this education gap and providing accessible and affordable computer education to all students, including those who attend public schools. We understand that every child has the potential to excel in the digital age, and we want to give them the tools and resources they need to succeed.

One of the main ICT platforms we use in our classes is Google’s suite of tools, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Slides, and Google Sheets. These tools are not only easy to use, but they are also extremely powerful and versatile, allowing students to create professional-quality documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.

But the benefits of learning to use these tools go far beyond just being able to complete school assignments. By mastering these digital tools, our students are gaining valuable skills that will serve them well in their future studies and careers. For example, being able to use email effectively is essential in today’s business world, and being able to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using Google’s tools can give students a competitive edge when applying for internships or jobs.

In addition to practical applications, learning to use ICT also helps students develop important 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration. These skills are highly sought after by employers and are essential for success in today’s rapidly changing world.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn about technology and how it can be used to solve problems and create new things. If you agree and want to help us make a difference in your community, we encourage you to get involved with Code Chautari Community Learning Center. Together, we can make a positive impact in the lives of students and help them achieve their full potential.
